Your contributions enable Project White Butterfly to carry out our mission to support individuals as they find their path out of addiction.
Project White Butterfly has applied for 501(c)(3) recognition. When approved, that recognition will be effective as of 12/31/2019. The law is such that a) you may make, and deduct, contributions in anticipation of that approval, knowing that, b) if our application is denied, those donations become non-deductible.
As a non-profit organization, a large portion of the funding for Project White Butterfly comes from individuals and organizations that believe in and wish to support the work we are doing to connect with those affected by substance use disorder and assist them on their journey to recovery.
At the heart of our mission, because of the generous donations from our supporters, we have been able to cover the cost of printing 7,500 Project White Butterfly cards, as well as purchase the other materials needed to complete the cards and place them in the community. Donations have also made it possible for us to:
- Pay shipping costs to send our card kits to 16 different states, as well as to the United Kingdom and Canada
- Provide Christmas meals and gifts to residents in inpatient treatment two years in a row – totaling 100 recipients
- Provide 30 Alcoholics Anonymous Big Books to individuals in transitional living
- Provide basic hygiene and supplies to individuals who sought our help in making their way from the streets to detox
Your support and donations help Project White Butterfly fulfill our mission to meet people wherever they are in their recovery journey by sharing messages of hope, to provide a sense of community, and to serve as a resource navigator, offering linkage to recovery services.
